Some Saab blogs make me smile

Saab vs Scepticism Blog

OK, many blogs about Saab make me smile, but once again I would like to recommend you check out Saab vs Scepticism if you haven’t done so already and bookmarked the site.

My post title here is a salute to a recent post @ Saab vs Scepticism titled “SAAB’s just make you smile“.

Our experience here has been similar, that Saabs DO make us smile, but please do read the article linked above for yourself.

I think I recently mentioned having the option to drive other brands of fine cars including BMW, Mercedes, Lexus, et al within our family, both locally and for family trips.

I’ll admit that I enjoyed driving the BMW Z3, Acura NSX, the 2 giant, old Mercedes sedans and a 1970 Benz 280 SL, BUT for trips and even day to day driving, we choose the Saabs.  We prefer the Saabs.

On a long term basis, we simply do not become bored with our Saabs.  We’ve owned 7 Saabs along with too many other cars to count.  We still have 4 of our Saabs and love each one of them and driving them as well.

Quoting from “SAAB’s just make you smile” above:

“I know friends with 150,000 + SAAB’s and they just won’t part with them, preferring to buy a new one to drive more regularly, and keep the older ones for ‘special occasions’.”

That describes our household quite well.  Of the three Saabs that are no longer with us (the 1978 99 EMS, 1993 900 Turbo and 1994 900 SE Turbo), we STILL miss every single one of them.

Those cars ran every bit as well with over 200,000 miles on the odometers on them as when they were new.  They remained fun to drive.  They continued to make us smile.

I think I also mentioned recently that perhaps that is Saab’s flaw… making cars that people don’t want to give up!

Check out Saab vs Scepticism for yourself.  The photos and writing do not disappoint and are second to none.

As usual I recommend that you…

Visit learn more about the new Saab 9-5 and other Saab models, special financing offers from Saab or to locate your nearest Saab dealer.

…and remember:  People who test drive a Saab usually buy a Saab.
